Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients across assigned areas (inpatient, outpatient, rehab) using evidence-based PT practices
• Develop individualized care plans and document progress accurately in Cerner PowerChart
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (OT, Speech, nursing, pharmacy) to optimize patient outcomes
• Supervise and utilize rehab aides/OTA to enhance patient care and throughput
• Provide skilled post-surgical, ortho, neuro, trauma and cardiac rehabilitation interventions
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and training to ensure competency and continuity of care
• Float to other units as required to meet patient and department needs

Qualifications

• Current Physical Therapy license for the state of California (required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred (note: 1+ year may be considered if strong inpatient clinical experience is demonstrated)
• Experience with inpatient and outpatient PT across ortho, post-surgical, neuro and trauma preferred
• Comfortable charting in Cerner PowerChart (EMR experience preferred)
• Ability to float to other units and work collaboratively across disciplines
• Travel experience preferred but not mandatory

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and treatment across acute, outpatient and rehab settings
• Inpatient PT workflows and caseload management (up to ~13 patients/day depending on area)
• Outpatient PT practices (up to ~9 patients/day in outpatient settings)
• Proficiency or willingness to train in Cerner PowerChart charting
• Experience working with rehab aides/OTA and delegating appropriately
• Familiarity with common diagnoses served: ortho, post-surgical, neuro, trauma, cardiac, med/surg
• Ability to perform and interpret bedside swallowing studies is helpful for multidisciplinary work with Speech
