Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide timely, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the acuity spectrum, from minor injuries to critical trauma
• Perform rapid patient assessment, triage, and stabilization for emergent medical and mental health needs
• Deliver critical cardiac and trauma interventions for adults and children in accordance with ACLS, TNCC, and PALS protocols
• Collaborate with emergency transport, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions
• Perform and document moderate complexity testing in line with CAP requirements, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Educate patients and families about care plans, follow-up, and preventive measures with compassion and clarity
• Maintain up-to-date clinical skills and participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission
• Healthcare Provider BLS required
• ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certifications required
• Verification of high school diploma or equivalent required (CAP requirement for moderate complexity testing)
• Comfort and experience in emergency department or critical care settings preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to work in fast-paced environments, and excellent teamwork and communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required (verification required for CAP compliance)
• Nursing education and RN licensure as required to practice as an RN in Oregon

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and trauma care expertise
• Pediatric emergency care and stabilization
• Critical cardiac care and ACLS interventions
• Rapid patient assessment and triage
• Mental health crisis management in the ED
• Familiarity with moderate complexity testing procedures and documentation
