Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub during urgent, emergent, and STAT C-sections to ensure safe, efficient surgical care
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with families
• Deliver patient-centered nursing interventions and evaluate outcomes per ANA standards
• Document care accurately and timely in EPIC to maintain continuity and safety
• Maintain readiness for emergent situations and support smooth OR workflow
• Participate in required competency testing and checklist validation to uphold specialty standards
• Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams and provide compassionate family education and support

Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island RN licensure required
• C-section circulating and scrubbing experience required
• Experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery (LDR) and/or Operating Room (OR) preferred
• EPIC proficiency required for documentation and charting
• Current BLS and CPR certifications required; all specialty-specific certifications must be current
• English proficiency required for patient communication and documentation
• Completion of required health screenings and vaccinations per facility policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of perioperative and obstetric nursing practices
• Skilled in sterile technique and OR room setup for cesarean deliveries
• Proficient in EPIC electronic medical record documentation
• Ability to rapidly assess and prioritize care in emergent surgical situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-stakes environments
• Familiarity with specialty competency testing and skills checklists
