Shift Type: Monday-Friday, rotating day shifts within department hours 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (typical schedules include 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM). Full-time 8-hour day shifts with rotating on-call coverage for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive peri-procedural nursing care across pre-, intra- and post-procedure phases in interventional radiology
• Prepare patients for procedures, including assessment, education and sedation support
• Assist the IR team during procedures including scrubbing and sterile technique when required
• Monitor patient status continuously and intervene promptly for changes in condition
• Administer moderate sedation and related medications in accordance with policy and competence testing
• Coordinate care and communicate effectively with physicians, techs, and ancillary teams for smooth patient flow
• Maintain accurate documentation, complete required competency exams and demonstrate adherence to hospital policies
• Participate in rotating call coverage to support nights, weekends and holidays as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology nursing experience across pre-, intra- and post-procedure care
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Demonstrated moderate sedation experience and completion of moderate sedation competency testing
• NIH certification and scrubbing/vascular experience preferred
• Active RN license with ability to verify via Nursys (license/certification verification required)
• Completion of employer skills checklist and specialty competency exams prior to start

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in interventional radiology workflows and peri-procedural care
• Vascular procedures familiarity and scrubbing skills
• Proficiency in moderate sedation monitoring and medication administration
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking during procedures
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced procedural environment
• Competency in basic and advanced cardiac life support protocols
