Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts (3x 12-hour shifts; staff often complete a 3rd dialysis shift on most days) with 2 Saturdays per month, plus Stand-by 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat) minimum once per week. Monthly Sunday stand-by 7:00 AM Sunday - 7:00 AM Monday (plus one monthly backup Sunday 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM Monday). Rotating (day and night stand-by) schedule requiring work across multiple hospital campuses.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality hemodialysis care to adult patients across multiple hospital campuses
• Manage dialysis treatments including machine setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting during 12-hour shifts
• Respond to stand-by assignments (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM and monthly Sunday coverage) with calm, clinical confidence
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and LTAC partners to ensure continuity of care
• Complete Prime competency exams, skills checklists, and required documentation accurately and on time
• Remain on-site to complete additional dialysis shifts when required to support patient care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Nursys verification
• Hemodialysis experience (clinical dialysis competency required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications current
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Willingness to accept stand-by/on-call responsibilities including overnight coverage
• Ability to travel and work across Denville, Dover, Passaic, and Newark hospital campuses and associated Kindred LTAC sites
• Compliance with required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap) and successful fit testing

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required (Nursys verification)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of hemodialysis procedures, machine operation, and vascular access care
• Proficiency in patient assessment, documentation, and medication administration during dialysis
• Infection control and sterile technique best practices
• Ability to pass Prime Basic Pharmacology, Rhythm Interpretation, Core Competencies, and Specialty exams
• Excellent critical thinking, triage, and emergency response skills during stand-by shifts
• Adaptability to varied clinical environments and multiple campus workflows
