Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the unit with clinical confidence and operational oversight to ensure high quality patient care
• Oversee staffing, scheduling and resource allocation to maintain safe patient ratios
• Coordinate admissions, transfers and discharges in partnership with interdisciplinary teams
• Mentor and coach nursing staff to support professional growth and strong clinical practice
• Ensure regulatory compliance, accurate documentation and adherence to facility policies
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and track outcomes to enhance patient experience
• Communicate clearly with families, physicians and ancillary departments to streamline care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Maine license or compact RN license preferred
• Demonstrated experience as a Unit Manager, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred
• Strong leadership, conflict resolution and staff development skills
• Comfortable with unit-level budgeting, staffing logistics and clinical documentation
• Able to start the assignment on the posted start date and complete the 13-week contract

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in clinical assessment and prioritization of patient care
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities
• Proficient with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
• Knowledgeable about regulatory requirements and quality improvement processes
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to manage staffing logistics and respond to changing unit needs
