Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-operative nursing care for patients staying 1–3 nights after surgery
• Continuously monitor telemetry and rapidly identify arrhythmias or hemodynamic changes
• Manage care for cath lab patients and provide appropriate post-procedural monitoring
• Support the emergency department by managing ER overflow patients when needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth transitions of care
• Perform thorough documentation and complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists
• Adhere to infection control and vaccination requirements to maintain a safe patient environment
• Participate in holiday and as-needed coverage based on surgical volumes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (licensure verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS required; TNCC and NIHSS required
• Experience in telemetry and medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Comfort caring for post-procedural and cath lab patients; able to manage ER overflow
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Must meet standard employment health requirements (drug screen, immunizations, fit test, physical)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Post-operative patient assessment and recovery management
• Cath lab post-procedural care principles
• Patient monitoring and escalation of care
• Familiarity with ER overflow workflows and rapid triage
• Strong documentation skills and competency testing completion
• Infection control, immunization protocols, and occupational health requirements
