Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled telemetry and post-procedural nursing care for patients recovering from surgery for short stays (typically 1–3 nights)
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond quickly to changes, applying ACLS/BLS protocols as needed
• Care for cath lab patients and support ER overflow patients when volumes demand teamwork
• Perform thorough assessments, document care clearly, and coordinate with surgeons and interdisciplinary teams
• Implement Trinity specialty competencies and follow facility-specific skill checklists to ensure safe care
• Support safe handoffs and patient education for smooth transitions to home or higher-acuity units

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of practice) and successful license/certificate verification
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications listed as part of preferred/required competencies
• Experience in Telemetry and Medical-Surgical nursing with cardiac monitoring and post-procedural care
• Ability to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Required occupational health items: fit test, drug screen, immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap), influenza vaccine, TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Post-operative nursing care and monitoring for short inpatient stays
• Cath lab patient care basics and rapid assessment for ER overflow cases
• Strong clinical documentation and effective interdisciplinary communication
• Competency with facility-specific specialty testing and checklists
