Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and treatments for patients across acuity levels
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment with attention to safety
• Perform patient assessments, monitor respiratory status, and interpret clinical data
• Respond quickly and effectively to respiratory emergencies and code situations
• Document treatments, clinical observations, and care plans accurately and timely
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapy interventions and home care
• Participate in competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• License/Certificate Verification required prior to start
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as listed
• Current fit test and required health screenings/immunizations as listed (Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, physical/health statement, 10-panel drug screen)
• Demonstrated experience delivering patient-centered respiratory care in acute care settings

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in ventilator management and troubleshooting
• Strong airway management and secretion clearance skills
• Ability to perform and interpret arterial blood gases and pulse oximetry
• Familiarity with clinical documentation and electronic health records
• Comfort working independently during night shifts and coordinating care across teams
• Experience with competency-based programs (Trinity-specific testing and checklists)
