Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in a correctional healthcare setting
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document all care in the medical record
• Perform focused assessments and report changes in patient condition to the care team
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and security staff to coordinate safe, effective care
• Support chronic disease management and deliver patient education to promote health
• Maintain strict infection control and safety procedures appropriate to a correctional facility
• Participate in orientation and training to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Current and active LVN license (Licensed Vocational Nurse)
• Eligible to work in California and hold any facility-required credentials
• Comfortable working the posted Sunday-Thursday 5:45 AM - 2:15 PM schedule
• Ability to complete a two-week orientation Monday through Friday prior to assignment
• Professional communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness to follow facility security procedures and pass required screenings

Education

• Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program or equivalent

• Medication administration and basic clinical procedures
• Clinical documentation and charting accuracy
• Patient assessment and recognizing changes in condition
• Infection prevention and control practices
• Strong interpersonal skills and conflict-aware communication
• Ability to work effectively in a correctional healthcare environment
