Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with respect and compassion
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Take and record basic vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff
• Provide thoughtful companionship and engage residents in social and therapeutic activities
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in resident care records
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to ensure resident safety
• Communicate clearly and collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and family members to support coordinated care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (or state-equivalent certification) required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain
• Friendly, patient-centered attitude with strong communication skills
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility immunization requirements
• Reliable transportation preferred for per diem assignments

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification or state-equivalent certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and respectful elder communication
• Basic knowledge of infection control and safe transfer techniques
• Skill in observing and reporting changes in resident condition
• Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
