Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor respiratory status and deliver evidence-based respiratory care
• Manage ventilators and advanced airway devices with precision and care
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpret results to guide therapy
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient chart and communicate changes in condition
• Provide patient and family education on respiratory therapies and home care plans
• Respond to emergency situations and assist with code events as needed

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia or eligible for licensure
• NBRC credential (CRT required; RRT preferred)
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or quickly obtainable
• Clinical experience in acute care or hospital settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team
• Reliable, professional, and committed to patient-centered care

Education

• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or accredited respiratory therapy program required
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and weaning protocols
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpretation
• Airway management and oxygen therapy
• Nebulizer therapy, aerosolized medication delivery, and airway clearance techniques
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Critical thinking, prioritization, and crisis response skills
