Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Weekday clinic typically 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM with rotating on-call responsibilities: night call 5:00 PM - 8:00 AM (on-call nights as scheduled) and 24-hour call 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM (rotating, approximately 1:6). Weekend call included on rotation; call schedule released about one month in advance. (Day and rotating on-call coverage)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general urology care in clinic and on call, delivering high-quality, patient-centered treatment
• Perform common urologic procedures including cystoscopy, vasectomy, prostate biopsy, TURP, ureteroscopy, and ESWL
• Manage pre- and post-operative care and round on admitted patients, coordinating with the hospitalist team
• Handle consults and callbacks efficiently while prioritizing patient safety and continuity of care
• Contribute to a fast-paced clinical environment by managing a high patient volume (typical clinic volume provided)
• Collaborate with nursing and administrative staff to streamline patient flow and maintain excellent customer service
• Utilize Epic for charting and documentation and participate in credentialing and required hospital processes

Qualifications

• Board eligible or board certified in Urology (board eligible considered)
• Minimum commitment of 3 months locum coverage required
• BLS and DEA required
• Ability to complete credentialing within the stated timelines (credentialing timeframe noted as 3 months; documents due three weeks prior to start)
• Comfort and experience working in a busy, high-volume clinic and OR setting
• Proven ability to manage on-call responsibilities and acute consults with good clinical judgment and bedside manner

Education

• MD or DO and completion of Urology residency
• Board eligible or board certified in Urology (board eligible considered)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinic care and hospital rounding skills
• OR experience with common urologic procedures and comfort with high case volume
• Experience with cystoscopy, vasectomy, prostate biopsy, TURP, ureteroscopy, nephrectomy, cystectomy, ESWL, and Botox injections
• Familiarity with robotic-assisted cases (robot onsite; robotic cases optional/preferred)
• Proficient with Epic electronic medical record
• Excellent patient and customer service skills and effective team collaboration
• On-call management and triage skills, including consult evaluation and callback handling
