Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform all computerized tomography (CT) scanning procedures with attention to patient comfort and safety
• Set up, monitor and operate CT equipment, ensuring high-quality image acquisition and digital image storage
• Position patients and apply immobilization techniques using accepted safety and lifting standards
• Prepare and administer IV contrast per radiologist protocols, monitoring patients for allergic reactions and responding appropriately
• Perform daily calibration and quality control checks on CT equipment and document findings
• Maintain electronic image capture, storage and transfer processes to support clinical needs and radiologist review
• Organize and manage the daily patient schedule in coordination with team members to optimize flow
• Assist radiologists and physician specialists during specialized procedures and record pertinent clinical data to aid diagnosis
• Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and help implement action plans

Qualifications

• ARRT certification (required)
• BLS (basic life support) certification (required)
• Minimum 2+ years of CT technologist experience (required)
• Demonstrated Philips CT equipment experience (required)
• Proven ability to perform IV contrast administration and monitor patients
• Comfort with electronic image systems and Cerner (preferred)
• Traveler experience preferred but not required
• Completion of a recent skills checklist (within one year) as requested
• Able to comply with facility credentialing/licensure requirements (Michigan verification guidance provided where applicable)

• Computed Tomography (CT) scanning and CT equipment operation
• Patient positioning and immobilization techniques for high-quality imaging
• IV contrast administration and patient monitoring for adverse reactions
• Image acquisition, digital imaging, and electronic/digital image transfer
• Daily calibration, quality control and maintenance processes
• Radiation safety principles and regulatory compliance
• CPR/basic life support and emergency response skills
• Familiarity with Philips CT systems and Cerner EMR workflow
