Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and monitor patient condition during overnight hours
• Administer medications and treatments per plan of care and facility policies
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the chart
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers to keep the unit running smoothly
• Support infection prevention practices and uphold safety standards for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) license in New Mexico (or ability to obtain)
• Practical nursing program graduate (LPN/LVN) from an accredited school
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and handling typical LPN duties independently
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred

Education

• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing (LPN/LVN) program
• Current LPN licensure (state-specific) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical assessment and vital sign monitoring skills
• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Wound care and basic dressing changes
• Skilled at care planning, charting, and using electronic medical records
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond to changing patient needs
• Team collaboration, clear communication, and patient advocacy
