Shift Type: Rotating nights including weekends, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour night shift). Schedule run in 4-week increments with a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; some self-scheduling with manager balancing.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver expert critical care nursing to ICU patients, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Manage ventilators and advanced life support equipment to optimize respiratory function
• Provide and assist with procedures common to the unit such as central and arterial line management, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD care
• Operate and collaborate around CRRT, SLED, and EV1000 technologies for complex renal and hemodynamic support
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech to ensure continuity and safety
• Communicate compassionately with patients and families, advocating for patient-centered care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Adapt to unit needs including floating to other areas when staffing requires

Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (critical care nursing background preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Comfortable with ventilator management and advanced ICU procedures
• Ability to document in Meditech and follow unit guidelines and policies
• Willingness to float to med/surg when needed and fulfill weekend requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care and ICU nursing principles
• Ventilator management and respiratory support
• Familiarity with EVD, CRRT, SLED, and EV1000 equipment
• Central line and arterial line care and troubleshooting
• Procedural familiarity: lumbar puncture and chest tube management
• Patient monitoring, assessment, and titration of therapies
• Proficient documentation skills in Meditech
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills
