Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the technical team — directly oversee Lead and Senior Technologists and support a patient-centered culture.
• Manage daily staffing and productivity to meet budgetary and operational targets.
• Ensure image quality control and enforce department policies and procedures across outpatient imaging areas.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (Joint Commission, Title 17 & 22, ACR).
• Provide education and mentorship to patients, families, students, and staff to promote best practices and professional development.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, nursing, clerical staff, and service engineers to coordinate imaging services and solve issues.
• Monitor departmental performance, evaluate resources, and make recommendations for efficient resource allocation and workflow improvements.
• Participate in annual evaluations and contribute to program development and department performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years as a working Diagnostic Technologist in an acute-care setting.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience in an acute-care setting; three to five years supervisory/managerial experience preferred.
• Current full Certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the California Department of Health Services (CRT) OR current license issued by ARRT.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Desired: certification in a specialized area from a recognized agency (NMTBC, MRI, etc.).
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and ability to motivate and delegate respectfully.

Education

• Associate Degree (minimum) in Radiologic Technology or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Regulatory knowledge: Joint Commission, Title 17 & 22, and ACR compliance and survey expectations.
• Technical expertise: diagnostic radiography, positioning, radiographic exposure principles, image quality control, radiation physics and protection, radiobiology.
• Operational skills: staffing, financial/resource management, quality assurance, and performance improvement.
• Interpersonal skills: patient-centered care, education/teaching, conflict resolution, and cross-department collaboration.
• Leadership abilities: staff development, progressive discipline, and sustaining employee satisfaction.
