Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language and swallowing assessments to identify patient needs
• Develop personalized treatment plans and measurable goals that drive meaningful progress
• Deliver evidence-based therapy to adults in a rehabilitation setting to maximize functional outcomes
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team—nurses, PT/OT, physicians and case managers—to coordinate care
• Document patient progress and outcomes accurately and on time to support continuity of care
• Educate patients and families to empower participation in recovery and carryover of therapy goals
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure safe transitions and appropriate follow-up care
• Mentor and support assistive staff and students as appropriate to foster a learning environment

Qualifications

• Valid state license in Speech-Language Pathology (Maryland license or eligibility)
• Master's degree or equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Experience in adult rehabilitation, neurogenic or medically complex populations preferred
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass background and health screenings required by facility

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent advanced degree)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and treatment planning skills for speech, language and swallowing disorders
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapy approaches and standardized assessment tools
• Skilled in clinical documentation and use of electronic medical records
• Excellent interdisciplinary communication and teamwork abilities
• Time management and caseload prioritization in a fast-paced rehab setting
• Patient- and family-centered education and coaching skills
