Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Provide compassionate, respectful care while promoting patient dignity
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care and observations
- Communicate clearly with nurses, therapists, patients, and families
- Help maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (or eligible) — New Mexico preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work the scheduled shift times
- Compassionate attitude, strong teamwork skills, and good communication
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic patient care principles and infection control
- Skilled in safe patient handling and mobility assistance
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced care team
- Attention to detail and ability to follow care plans and directions
