Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on patient care by implementing individualized treatment plans designed by the physical therapist
- Deliver therapeutic exercises and modalities to help patients regain mobility and function
- Document patient progress, response to interventions and plan updates accurately and promptly
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
- Educate patients and families on home programs, safety and strategies to support recovery
- Monitor and report changes in patient status to the supervising physical therapist
- Contribute to a patient-centered environment that promotes dignity, respect and recovery
Qualifications
- Licensed or license-eligible Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for New Hampshire
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Comfort working in a fast-paced rehabilitation environment and adapting to patient needs
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working with patients and teams
- Clinical experience in inpatient/rehab settings preferred but new grads who meet licensure requirements are encouraged to apply
Education
- Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or equivalent accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of therapeutic exercise techniques and assistive device training
- Familiarity with documentation best practices and electronic medical records
- Skilled in patient transfer techniques, fall prevention and safe mobility training
- Ability to progress interventions under PT direction and modify plans based on patient response
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient education and family communication
