Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes in patient condition
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe patient handling during rehab activities
- Support bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Accurately document care and communicate effectively with the care team
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Active placement on the New Mexico CNA registry or eligible to register
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfort working in a rehab/long-term care setting and supporting ADLs
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and a patient-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
- Ability to take vital signs and recognize/report changes in condition
- Familiarity with safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
- Good documentation practices and basic electronic charting comfort
- Teamwork, time management, and strong interpersonal skills
