Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and patients
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Take and document vital signs, meal intake, and observational notes accurately
- Support safe patient mobility, transfers, and positioning
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and infection-controlled environment
- Build trusting relationships with patients and families through empathy and consistent care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant)
- Active work authorization for New Mexico and ability to meet local requirements
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Comfortable with lifting/assisting patients and standing for extended periods
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required immunizations
Education
- High school diploma or GED; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills and patient care fundamentals
- Vital signs measurement and documentation
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Infection control and hygiene practices
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients and care teams
- Time management and organization in a fast-paced setting
- Teamwork and the ability to follow care plans and directions
