Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, monitoring vitals and responding to changes
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document according to policy
- Perform thorough patient assessments and coordinate with the care team
- Assist with care planning and transitions to ensure smooth patient experiences
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and follow-up
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to uphold safety and quality standards
- Maintain accurate, timely charting in the electronic medical record
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in New Mexico (or eligible for licensure)
- Clinical experience in inpatient or ambulatory care preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications a plus
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
- Ability to safely lift/move patients and perform duties for 12+ hour shifts as needed
Education
- Diploma or certificate in Practical Nursing (LPN)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or BSN noted if RN opportunity is considered
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in medication administration and documentation
- Comfortable with wound care, IV site monitoring, and basic procedures
- Proficient with electronic medical records and bedside charting
- Excellent assessment, triage, and clinical decision-making skills
- Team-player mentality with strong patient education abilities
