Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility with proper technique
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation to support patient plans
- Help create a clean, comfortable environment that promotes healing
- Collaborate with nurses and therapists to ensure consistent care delivery
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
- Eligible for or listed on the New Mexico CNA registry as applicable
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; patient-focused attitude
- Ability to pass facility background checks and required health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven ability to provide personal care and support to diverse patient populations
- Basic clinical skills: vitals, transfers, infection control, toileting and feeding assistance
- Familiarity with patient safety protocols and fall prevention
- Comfortable with electronic or paper charting and shift handoffs
- Empathy, patience, and strong bedside manners
- Ability to follow care plans and accept direction from licensed staff
