Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and assist residents with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics every time
• Help create a comfortable, respectful environment that preserves resident dignity
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, and toileting while encouraging independence
• Communicate clearly with nurses and families to ensure coordinated, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in good standing (required)
• Ability to obtain or hold Rhode Island state CNA authorization for this assignment
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working an overnight schedule and providing hands-on resident care
• Successful background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by the facility
• Strong teamwork, reliability, and a positive attitude toward patient-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in ADLs, transfers, and safe patient handling techniques
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs and observe patient condition
• Infection control practices and adherence to facility safety protocols
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and care teams
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
