Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Help with safe transfers and positioning to support mobility and prevent injury
- Document care accurately and communicate clearly during handoffs
- Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Build respectful, trusting relationships with residents and their families
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — state certification required or ability to obtain
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Comfortable with patient lifting/transfers and basic mobility assistance
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamental patient care skills and familiarity with ADLs
- Basic charting and documentation practices
- Infection prevention and proper use of PPE
- Safe transfer and body mechanics techniques
- Observation skills to notice and report changes in condition
- Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nurses and therapists
