Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Support patient mobility and safety during transfers and ambulation
- Take and document vital signs accurately and promptly
- Assist nursing team with treatments and resident comfort measures
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and the care team
- Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff and document observations
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or obtainable
- Prior experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or acute care helpful
- Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including safe patient handling
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs, basic nursing procedures, and patient safety practices
- Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy setting
- Basic infection prevention and control practices
