Roles & Responsibilities

• Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment thoroughly to keep patients safe
• Assemble instrument trays and prepare sets with meticulous attention to detail
• Operate and monitor sterilization cycles and document results accurately
• Reprocess scopes following hospital and regulatory standards
• Support OR and GI suites by ensuring the right instruments are ready when the team needs them
• Maintain infection control standards and champion best practices in the SPD
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines to protect staff and patients
• Collaborate with OR staff to improve instrument flow and efficiency — be a problem solver

Qualifications

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) – HSPA (Required)
• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience
• BLS (AHA) certification
• Experience supporting Operating Room and GI procedures preferred
• Comfort working in a busy acute care OR environment and on a 13-week travel assignment
• Strong attention to detail, good documentation habits, and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of decontamination and sterilization methods
• Experience with instrument assembly, tray preparation, and scope reprocessing
• Comfortable monitoring sterilization cycles and maintaining accurate records
• Familiarity with infection control standards and regulatory compliance
• Ability to support OR workflows, prioritize tasks, and communicate clearly with surgical teams
• Willingness to learn new instrumentation — opportunity for robotic instrument exposure in early 2026
