Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor maternal and fetal status using continuous fetal monitoring and intervene as needed
• Provide hands-on care during labor, assist with vaginal births and C-sections, and support safe deliveries
• Perform newborn stabilization and initial care, coordinating with NICU when required
• Deliver compassionate postpartum and lactation support to new families
• Accurately document patient care in the CPN system and communicate clear handoffs to the team
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, UC, PCT, and lactation consultants to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain unit equipment competency, including Alaris IV pumps and fetal monitoring systems

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential (required)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (experience in L&D strongly preferred)
• Certifications required or highly preferred: NRP, BLS, ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Comfortable providing care in Labor & Delivery and assisting with C-sections
• Experience with newborn care and familiarity with NICU collaboration

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal monitoring interpretation and assessment skills
• Skilled in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
• Familiarity with Alaris IV pump operation and medication administration
• Experience with electronic documentation (CPN) and accurate charting
• Ability to work 1:1 to 1:4 patient ratios and prioritize in fast-paced situations
• Excellent communication, patient education, and teamwork skills
