Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (primary day shift) with late-night rotations 2-3 nights per week; evening shifts often extend past 5:00 PM and occasionally to around 8:00 PM or later — rotating schedule; 40 hours/week guaranteed

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform focused pre-procedure assessments and prepare patients for angiography and cardiac catheterization
• Provide safe and timely pre-medication, intra-procedure monitoring, and post-catheterization care
• Scrub in and assist physicians during interventional procedures, contributing to procedural success
• Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, pacemakers/ICDs, and intra-aortic balloon pumps with precision
• Document the catheterization process thoroughly and accurately to support continuity of care
• Deliver clear, compassionate patient education so patients and families understand next steps
• Maintain a stocked, organized workspace and support smooth patient transfers and team workflow

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required (LARA and/or Nursys must show Active Michigan license)
• Cath lab experience required
• BLS (AHA) - active
• ACLS (AHA) - active
• Skills checklist current to within 1 year, pertinent to the specialty (EP if applicable)
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
• EP experience preferred; travel work experience and Epic EMR experience are a plus

Education

• Education not specified; active Michigan RN license and relevant cath lab certifications required

Knowledge & Skills

• Pre-procedure assessment and patient preparation
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Pacemaker/ICD basics and IABP management
• Scrubbing/assisting during cath lab procedures
• Accurate cath lab documentation and data-sheet recording
• Patient education and post-catheterization care planning
• Familiarity with Epic EMR workflows (preferred)
