Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour nights per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night). Rotating 12D/N option possible; orientation week 1 is Mon-Fri days, week 2 is 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor. Schedule reviewed every 4-week period; weekends variable based on unit needs.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and manage post-chemotherapy body fluid handling with strict safety protocols
- Perform and document IV therapy, blood product administration, and central/PICC line care
- Monitor and interpret telemetry to detect and respond to dysrhythmias and cardiac changes
- Recognize and act on oncologic emergencies (e.g., tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome) and sepsis
- Manage infusion pumps, insulin and heparin drips, and implement infection prevention measures
- Accurately chart patient care in EPIC and communicate abnormal labs and clinical changes to the team
- Provide patient- and family-centered education on treatments, symptom management, and follow-up care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners — pharmacy, PT/RT, social work, rapid response teams — to optimize outcomes
- Float to other Med/Surg and Oncology units as needed while maintaining safe, high-quality care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (eligible to practice in the state of assignment)
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience with MS/Tele experience; must have at least 1 year hematology/oncology specialty experience within the last 3 years
- ONS certification required (oncology nursing specialty)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred where noted
- Proven telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
- Experience with EPIC or other electronic charting systems (EPIC required)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Knowledge & Skills
- Chemotherapy administration and safe handling
- IV therapy, starting IVs, peripheral line care, and PICC/central line management
- Blood product administration and central line blood draws
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of oncologic emergencies and sepsis recognition
- Feeding tube care and use of rapid response teams
- Familiarity with EPIC charting and use of Alaris pumps and GE/B450 telemetry systems
- Strong infection prevention practices and fall-risk management
