Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and ensure all instruments and supplies are sterile and ready
• Assist surgeons and the OR team during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
• Maintain strict sterile technique and handle surgical instrumentation with precision
• Perform instrument counts and document appropriately to ensure patient safety
• Complete required checklists, verifications and documentation including Trinity Skills Checklist
• Participate in on-call coverage and respond promptly when needed for emergent cases

Qualifications

• AST certified scrub tech (required)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to pass license and certificate verification
• Successful completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and required pre-employment screenings
• Current immunizations and clear drug screen per employer requirements

Education

• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent
• High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR aseptic practices
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and procedural setup
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage counts, documentation and OR workflow accurately
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities and adapting to schedule needs
