Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry closely and interpret cardiac rhythms to catch changes early
- Provide expert bedside care for medical cardiology patients, including post-cardiac procedures
- Manage and titrate cardiac drips safely and according to protocols
- Respond quickly and effectively to code or rapid response situations using BLS/ACLS skills
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and promptly
- Collaborate with cardiology teams, physicians, and allied staff to develop and execute care plans
- Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, procedures, and discharge instructions
Qualifications
- Active RN license with verification required (must be eligible to practice in Connecticut)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with telemetry monitoring; familiarity with post-cardiac procedures and cardiac drips preferred
- Ability to complete required health screenings: fit test, immunizations, TB testing, and drug screen
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Management of cardiac drips and hemodynamic monitoring
- Post-cardiac procedure care and complication recognition
- Strong emergency response skills (BLS/ACLS proficiency)
- Clear clinical documentation and effective interdisciplinary communication
- Patient education and compassionate bedside manner
