Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor laboring patients and interpret fetal heart tracings to support safe deliveries
- Provide skilled, compassionate care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilize newborns as needed
- Administer medications and interventions according to orders and protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families about labor progress, delivery options, and postpartum care
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
- Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and escalate care when required
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Ohio license preferred or compact RN eligible)
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- NIHSS certification as listed
- Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
- Successful completion of Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen, Fit Test, and required health screenings (2 Step PPD or IGRA, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella)
- License/certificate verification and physical/health statement as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fetal monitoring and labor assessment skills
- Neonatal resuscitation and immediate newborn care
- Obstetric emergency response and critical thinking under pressure
- Clear clinical documentation and electronic medical record familiarity
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced L&D environment
