Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor laboring patients and interpret fetal heart tracings to support safe deliveries
• Provide skilled, compassionate care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilize newborns as needed
• Administer medications and interventions according to orders and protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about labor progress, delivery options, and postpartum care
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies and escalate care when required

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Ohio license preferred or compact RN eligible)
• Current BLS certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• NIHSS certification as listed
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
• Successful completion of Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen, Fit Test, and required health screenings (2 Step PPD or IGRA, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella)
• License/certificate verification and physical/health statement as required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal monitoring and labor assessment skills
• Neonatal resuscitation and immediate newborn care
• Obstetric emergency response and critical thinking under pressure
• Clear clinical documentation and electronic medical record familiarity
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced L&D environment
