Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality PCU/Stepdown nursing care for medically complex patients
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient status using advanced assessment skills
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and per protocol
- Collaborate closely with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to coordinate care
- Document accurate, timely patient records in Meditech EMR and maintain compliance
- Educate patients and families about conditions, care plans, and discharge needs
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active New Hampshire RN license (Compact allowed) — license verification required
- Current American Heart Association BLS (required)
- Current American Heart Association ACLS (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, IMCU or Stepdown nursing experience (required)
- PCU/Stepdown checklist current within the past year (required)
- One supervisory signed reference from the past year of employment (required)
- Meditech EMR experience (highly preferred)
- Previous travel nursing experience (highly preferred)
- Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility (NO LOCALS) and included in submission
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry and intermediate care monitoring skills
- Proficiency in critical thinking, rapid assessment, and prioritization
- Comfortable with IV medications, titratable drips, and post-op care
- Experience with Meditech EMR or similar electronic charting systems
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a small-hospital environment
- Ability to follow protocols, accurately document care, and contribute to safety initiatives
