Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality general X-ray studies across ED and inpatient settings to support timely diagnoses
- Operate C-arms and assist with OR orthopedic and spine procedures with precision and safety
- Conduct fluoroscopy and portable radiography as needed, averaging 20-30 studies per day
- Use Epic and Fuji PACS for accurate charting, image acquisition, and seamless communication with radiologists
- Collaborate with the trauma team in a Level 1 Trauma environment, responding calmly under pressure
- Follow radiation safety protocols (agency-provided radiation badge required) and maintain patient safety standards
- Participate in equipment orientation and department tours to ensure smooth integration into workflows
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, PAs, and radiologists (day radiologist on-site; nights remote)
Qualifications
- ARRT certification (Certified Radiologic Technologist) — required
- BLS (AHA) — required
- Minimum 2 years of radiologic technologist experience (experience covering OR procedures and Level 1 Trauma preferred)
- Proven ability to operate C-arms and support orthopedic/spine imaging in the OR
- Comfortable with portable radiography, fluoroscopy, and general X-ray workflows
- Must be able to be in-state for week of orientation and provide a driver's license (60 mile radius requirement)
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
Education
- ARRT certification / Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Epic electronic medical record and Fuji PACS competency for charting and image management
- Hands-on experience with GE C-arms and GE general radiology equipment
- Familiarity with Carestream and Shimadzu portable units
- Strong fluoroscopy and C-arm procedure skills in the OR
- Ability to handle high-volume imaging days (20-30 studies) with accuracy
- Trauma imaging experience and ability to work in a Level 1 Trauma setting
- Excellent patient communication and teamwork skills in acute care environments
- Adherence to radiation safety and infection control practices
