Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts (primarily 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM), 3 shifts per week; includes weekend rotation (4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks). May require occasional night coverage (Fri & Sat); self-scheduling after initial schedule is filled

Roles & Responsibilities

• Place patients in the most appropriate unit and bed using TeleTracking and the EMR
• Communicate clearly with ED staff, charge nurses, and leadership to resolve placement issues
• Work across multiple screens and applications to manage patient flow efficiently
• Use critical thinking to flag inappropriate bed requests and coordinate alternative placement
• Document placement decisions and communications in Cerner/EPIC and related systems
• Coordinate with unit leadership when complex or escalated placement decisions are needed
• Support department goals for timely throughput while maintaining a calm, customer-focused approach

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be able to submit license)
• BLS certification required
• Recent acute care experience — 2 years preferred (1 LTC contract OK, but multiple recent SNF assignments may be declined)
• Experience with TeleTracking/TeleTrac and Cerner required
• House supervisor experience preferred (knowledgeable even if performing full-time patient placement)
• Strong computer skills — comfortable with multiple applications, Zoom and Google apps
• Excellent multitasking, communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to complete required Dys exam (UNA) within 24-48 hours prior to acceptance; two attempts allowed

Education

• Nursing diploma or degree (ADN or equivalent). BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Bed placement and bed management workflows
• TeleTracking (TeleTrac) expertise
• EMR proficiency (Cerner; EPIC familiarity is a plus)
• Ability to work across multiple screens and chat platforms simultaneously
• Triage of placement requests and understanding of unit-level capabilities (MedSurg vs Tele, etc.)
• Strong written and verbal communication with ED, charge nurses and leadership
• Customer service mindset and professional demeanor in high-volume settings
