Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with mental health needs
- Provide evidence-based individual and group therapy interventions
- Collaborate with custody and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure safety
- Document clinical encounters, treatment progress and discharge planning in a timely manner
- Consult on behavioral management strategies and participate in case conferences
- Maintain professional, ethical practice and comply with facility policies and reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist (California licensure preferred)
- Experience working with adults with serious mental illness or correctional populations is highly desirable
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and treatment planning skills
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to pass facility-required background checks and comply with security protocols
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of evidence-based therapies (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care)
- Familiarity with psychological testing and diagnostic assessment
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and prioritize clinical needs
- Comfort working in structured, security-focused environments
- Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and case management skills
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations
