Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients on a rotating 12-hour schedule
• Perform focused patient assessments and monitor clinical status to detect and escalate changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care thoroughly
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Float to Medical-Surgical as needed to support patient care and maintain unit flow
• Support continuity of care during weekend and rotation-based coverage, ensuring patient safety and comfort

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required prior to start of contract
• Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and/or Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) settings preferred
• Comfort and ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and consecutive weekends as needed
• Ability to float to Med/Surg on low-census days and adapt to varying patient needs
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with Progressive Care Unit workflows and patient monitoring
• Clinical assessment and early recognition of patient deterioration
• Safe medication administration and documentation practices
• Adaptability to rotating schedules and floating between PCU and Med/Surg
• Effective communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
