Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluations and interventions tailored to each patient
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve daily living and functional independence
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and support staff to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient progress and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on home strategies, adaptive equipment, and community resources
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives at the facility
Qualifications
- Occupational Therapy license in Montana or ability to obtain state licensure prior to start
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (MOT/OTD or equivalent)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or ability to obtain before start
- Facility orientation and background check clearance as required
- Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
- Prior acute care, subacute, or outpatient rehab experience welcomed but new grads who meet licensure requirements are encouraged to apply
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (e.g., MOT, OTD) from an accredited program; meet state education requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in functional assessment, ADL training, and therapeutic activity planning
- Proficient documentation skills and familiarity with clinical documentation systems
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and fall prevention strategies
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Ability to prioritize caseloads and work efficiently in a collaborative setting
