Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor and document resident vital signs, changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly
- Support safe transfers and mobility, following facility protocols to reduce fall risk
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team to deliver individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and charting in accordance with facility standards
- Adhere to infection control practices and promote a clean, safe environment for residents
- Offer emotional support and engage residents with dignity and respect to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification (T-CNA accepted); must meet state of New Mexico requirements
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus but new grads with solid clinical skills are welcome
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable, professional, and patient-centered approach to caregiving
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate required (T-CNA accepted)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with assisted living and skilled nursing routines and documentation
- Comfortable with ADLs, feeding assistance, grooming, and toileting support
- Basic vital signs measurement and recognizing signs of clinical change
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize in a busy clinical setting
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
