Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer ionizing radiation treatments safely and accurately according to physician prescriptions and protocols
• Perform CT simulation to map treatment areas, position patients precisely, and support treatment planning
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Train and mentor fellow radiation therapists on simulation techniques and best practices
• Operate modern radiation therapy delivery and imaging systems while maintaining strict radiation safety standards
• Document treatments and maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record system
• Implement specialized techniques such as Breath Hold, SRS, SBRT, Superficial RT, and HDR with attention to detail
• Provide compassionate patient positioning and education to minimize anxiety and improve treatment accuracy

Qualifications

• R.T. (T) certification required and current
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiation Oncology with strong simulation experience
• AHA BLS certification required (proof required)
• Flu vaccine required for the current season (no declinations accepted during Oct 1 - Apr 1)
• Experience with CT simulation and treatment planning workflows
• Comfortable working with modern radiation delivery systems and electronic medical records
• Mosaiq experience highly preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred

Education

• Successful completion of an accredited radiation therapy training program and R.T. (T) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of radiation safety practices and regulatory standards
• Proficiency in CT imaging for simulation and patient positioning techniques
• Familiarity with treatment planning concepts and delivery verification
• Experience with SRS, SBRT, Breath Hold, Superficial RT, and HDR procedures
• Comfortable using modern linear accelerators and imaging systems
• Ability to interpret treatment plans and deliver care per protocol
• Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills
• Accuracy in documentation within electronic medical records
