Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients in the assigned unit
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
- Monitor patient status and report changes promptly to the care team
- Document care, observations, and interventions clearly in the medical record
- Support activities of daily living and assist patients with mobility and comfort
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to implement care plans
- Maintain infection control standards and promote a safe environment
- Educate patients and families in a clear, respectful, and encouraging way
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state required to practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification as required by facility
- Ability to work evening and night schedules, including extended shifts
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and customer service mindset
- Up-to-date immunizations and any facility-mandated health requirements
Education
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent vocational training
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical skills in medication administration and patient assessment
- Proficiency with documentation and electronic health record systems
- Wound care basics and monitoring of vital signs
- Clear communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
- Time management, prioritization, and the ability to multitask in a busy unit
- Patient-centered approach and strong situational awareness
