Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT exams for inpatient, ED and outpatient populations using the GE Optima 660
- Provide compassionate patient care including IV placement and IV starts when needed on day shift
- Operate and document imaging studies in EPIC and McKesson PACS accurately and efficiently
- Collaborate with on-site radiologists (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM coverage) and CT leads to prioritize emergent studies
- Maintain radiation safety, image quality and adhere to department protocols
- Respond promptly to on-call requests (Wednesday nights) and assist the care team in urgent situations
- Accurately chart procedures and ensure timely communication of critical findings
Qualifications
- WA state license required at time of submittal
- ARRT (CT) certification required; ARRT (R) also required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years CT experience
- Proven IV placement/IV start skills (days may assist with IVs)
- Familiarity with EPIC and McKesson PACS; experience with GE Optima 660 a plus
- Comfort working in acute care settings (Level 4 hospital) including ED and inpatient studies
Education
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent
- Certified CT Technologist – ARRT (CT) (required)
- Current BLS certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of CT protocols, cross-sectional anatomy and radiation safety
- Skilled in IV placement and contrast administration techniques
- Proficient with EPIC charting and McKesson PACS workflow
- Ability to produce diagnostic-quality images and troubleshoot scanner issues
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with technologists, radiologists and nursing
- Calm, decisive response during on-call and emergent situations
