Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Observe residents closely and report changes in condition to the nursing team right away
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Document care accurately and maintain resident dignity, privacy, and comfort
- Work with the interdisciplinary team to create a warm, respectful environment for residents
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working with older adults and helping with daily care
- Passion for resident-centered care, reliability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with geriatric care and common age-related conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and team members
- Basic vital signs and observation skills to notice subtle changes
- Infection control, safe patient handling, and documentation best practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively in a busy care setting
