Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to residents of Windward Gardens
- Assess patient condition and respond with timely, evidence-based interventions
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to coordinate excellent care
- Document assessments, care plans, and interventions clearly in the electronic health record
- Promote a positive patient experience by communicating effectively with residents and families
- Follow facility policies and infection control standards to maintain a safe environment
Qualifications
- Current, active RN or LPN license (eligible to practice in Maine or compact state where applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or other advanced certifications a plus for RNs
- Comfortable working full days and covering weekends as part of a seven-day schedule
- Professional attitude, strong clinical judgment, and excellent communication skills
- Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ASN or Diploma for RNs; PN diploma or equivalent for LPNs)
- BSN preferred for RNs when available
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
- Teamwork and clear communication with interdisciplinary staff
- Time management and ability to prioritize in a busy clinical environment
- Compassionate bedside manner and resident-centered care approach
