Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct nursing care to residents, putting dignity and comfort first
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document according to policy
- Perform routine assessments, take vital signs, and track changes in condition
- Support activities of daily living and promote resident independence when possible
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and families to coordinate care
- Maintain clear, timely clinical documentation and follow facility protocols
- Participate in care planning, shift handoffs, and quality improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential (Massachusetts license or eligible to obtain)
- Experience working in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings is a plus
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills
- Ability to perform clinical tasks reliably during the 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM shift
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent LPN training
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Patient assessment and monitoring skills
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Comfortable with electronic health records and basic charting
- Time management and prioritization in a busy clinical setting
- Collaborative approach to working with nursing assistants and therapists
