Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Day shifts with flexible 8-16 hour options; evenings and nights available as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-acuity nursing care to surgery and trauma patients, including gunshot wounds and spinal cord injuries
Collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, Level I trauma center
Manage a 5:1 patient ratio with support from nursing techs, phlebotomists, and night unit secretaries
Utilize EPIC for thorough and accurate charting and handoff communication
Ensure patient safety and comfort through evidence-based trauma nursing practices

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in trauma or surgical nursing
BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
ACLS certification strongly preferred
EPIC proficiency required – hit the ground running
Willingness to work flexible, non-block schedules as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in trauma and surgical patient care
Strong critical thinking and prioritization in high-acuity settings
Excellent teamwork and communication with interdisciplinary teams
Comfortable using EPIC electronic health records
Ability to adapt to fast-paced, ever-changing patient conditions
