Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and scaling to promote oral health
- Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and nutritional habits for a brighter smile
- Take and develop dental X-rays to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Assist dentists during procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable patient experience
- Maintain a sterile and organized environment, adhering to infection control protocols
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently to support continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia (required)
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Current CPR certification
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in dental hygiene procedures and instrumentation
- Strong attention to detail and infection control practices
- Comfortable using dental software for charting and records
- Great interpersonal skills to make patients feel at ease
