Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis
- Conduct oral health assessments and screenings
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
- Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
- Apply fluoride and sealants to prevent decay
- Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive care
Qualifications
- Current Dental Hygiene license in New York State
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene
- CPR/BLS certification
- Local anesthesia certification preferred
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in dental hygiene procedures and instrumentation
- Knowledge of dental software and record keeping
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient education
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Attention to infection control and safety protocols
